Fall 2026
We’re excited to share several new updates and enhancements to the Legacy Yearbooks design software and online storefront! These updates are designed to make creating, managing, and ordering your yearbook easier throughout the school year.
Advertising Updates
Several improvements have been made to student dedication ads:
- New Ad Templates: A brand-new collection of student dedication ad templates is now available, with even more designs to choose from.
- New Ad Ordering Tutorial: A tutorial video is now available directly from the storefront home page to help families through the ad-ordering process.
- Mobile Ad Ordering: Families can purchase an ad from a mobile device and complete the design later from a computer. After checkout, they’ll receive an email with a link to create their ad.
- Ad Template Management: Advisers can choose which ad templates are available from the new Ads tab on the Adviser Configure page.
- Additional Adviser Controls: Advisers can hide student dedication ads from other users. Only advisers can edit the Advertising section of the yearbook ladder.
- Ad Order Management: A new Ads tab on the Sales page allows advisers to view ad orders, confirm which ads have been used in the book, and make corrections when needed.
- The software will also provide a warning when ads have been ordered but have not yet been flowed into the yearbook.
Easier Online Ordering
Guest Checkout: Families can now purchase a yearbook or yearbook ad without creating an account.
Simplified Checkout: A shipping address will no longer be required when the customer's cart does not contain any products being shipped directly to their home.
New Designs & Content
There are lots of new creative options available this year!
- Styles: 11 new style designs, with a focus on preschool, elementary, and sports programs.
- Full Page Images: A new category makes it easier to import full pages designed in programs such as Canva or InDesign.
- Art: New artwork has been added across multiple categories, including sports clip art, frames, bulletin board elements, and more.
- Backgrounds: New backgrounds are available, including additional sports and bulletin board options.
- Templates: New portrait templates include options with four large teacher frames, along with new Sports Portrait templates for player photos.
Star Ratings for Candid Photos
Advisers can now rate candid photos with stars while reviewing images. Ratings appear directly on the image thumbnails, and photos are sorted by rating so your favorites appear at the top of the folder.
Easier Retake Photo Management
A new retake feature makes it easier to replace a student's original portrait with their retake photo. The software can update instances of that student throughout the yearbook with the new image.
Offline Order Improvements
Personalization options are now available when entering an Offline Order, allowing personalization to be properly ordered outside of the online shopping cart.
Offline orders can also now be canceled from the Orders page in Admin, similar to orders placed through the online storefront.
Portrait & Text Improvements
Several updates have been made to make portrait pages easier to customize:
- The standard line height for text boxes created through the Portrait Wizard has been increased, providing more flexibility when changing font sizes.
- Student names flowed onto pages in Advanced Design are now easier to modify, including font, style, and size.
- Custom information such as student quotes and player statistics is also easier to edit.
- Times New Roman has been removed due to spacing issues and replaced with similar font options, including PT Serif and EB Garamond.
Preview & Submit
The Preview tab on the yearbook ladder has been renamed Preview & Submit, making it clearer where to go when you're ready to review and submit your yearbook.
Password Reset Improvements
Password reset links will now remain active for a longer period of time, making it easier to regain access if you forget your password.
